OSHA Outreach Construction Course

OSHA 10 Hour & OSHA 30 Hour

​This training program is intended to provide entry level construction workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a construction site. The training covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter at a construction site.

1. Introduction to OSHA                                                                                          1 hour

2. OSHA Focus Four Hazards                                                                                4 hours (90 Minute Fall Protection)

3. Personal Protective  and Lifesaving Equipment                                                 ½ hour

4. Health Hazards in Construction                                                                          ½ hour

5. Elective Courses                                                                                                 3 hours

      Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, & Conveyors                      

      Excavations                                                                                                         Elective Courses

      Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal                                                 Min of ½ hour on any topic

      Scaffolds                                                                                                             Must include two topics

      Stairways and Ladders

      Tools – Hand and Power

​The 30-hour Construction Outreach Training Program is intended to provide a variety of training to workers with some safety responsibility. Training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards.

2. Managing Safety and Health                                                                              2 hours

3. OSHA Focus Four Hazards                                                                                6 hours

4. Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment                                                  2 hours

5. Health Hazards in Construction                                                                          2 hours

6. Stairways and Ladders                                                                                       1 hour

7. Elective Courses                                                                                                 15 hours

Concrete and Masonry Construction    

Confined Space Entry    

Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, & Conveyors

Ergonomics     

Excavations    

Fire Protection and Prevention    

Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal 

Elective Courses Motor Vehicles, Mechanized Equipment & Marine Operations;   Min of ½ hour on any topic

Rollover Protective Structures and Overhead Protection; and                                 Must include six topics    

Signs, Signals and Barricades Powered Industrial Vehicles

Students that complete the OSHA 10 training requirement can apply that training to obtain the OSHA 30 provided that all training is completed within 6 months (from the start of the OSHA 10 class, to the end of the OSHA 30 class), the same instructor completes the training, and they must surrender the OSHA 10 card.
