This course is designed for persons at the entry level of experience regarding fall protection equipment. Students completing this course will learn how to inspect and wear their personal fall arrest equipment, distinguish between fall restraint, work positioning, and fall arrest. List and recognize the symptoms and means of preventing suspension trauma and know how to respond in an emergency.

OSHA Subpart M Regulations and ANSI Standards Review

This course is designed for persons who are responsible for determining the types of fall protection equipment to be used, developing fall protection plans including rescue procedures, and the installation of fall protection systems. A comprehensive exam will be given and all students must receive an 80% score in order to receive their competent person card. Students that do not pass with an 80% will receive an Awareness card. Due to the development of new products and changing conditions the competent person training should be renewed every three years.
